About City

London as a city is significantly more assorted than the rest of the United Kingdom. Across England and Wales, 83% of the population is white based on the 2011 Census, but in London that number falls to 69.7%. The white measure of London's population increases when traveling away from the city center.

The section on ethnicity below, compiled using 2014 census data from the ONS provides details of the ethnicity of London residents associated to residents of England and Wales.

Of the 8.88 million people living in London at the time of the most recent UK estimates, 3.62 million (38.1%) were born outside of the United Kingdom. The most public country of birth for London residents outside of the UK is India. According to the 2014 census, 272,297 people living in London were born in India. It is no longer simply the grueling pace of life that is forcing some to throw in the towel. When Londoners reach home at Heathrow, we pass through exactly the same immigration channel as the citizens of 27 other EU nations.

A number of world-leading education institutions are based in London. In the 2015/16 QS World University Rankings, Imperial College London is ranked joint 2nd in the world, University College London (UCL) is ranked 5th, and King’s College London (KCL) is ranked 16th. The London Business School is considered one of the world’s leading business schools and in 2015 its MBA programme was ranked second best in the world by the Financial Times.
